Special Guest BILLY ZANE, woo-boy, who is he gonna play?! Dick Tremayne Designer Menswear’s younger even more rakish brother?
Voicemail from Windom Earle (Kenneth Welsh) accusing Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) of being distracted, not putting his all into the game, give him until tomorrow to post his move “or I’ll do it for you.” Harry (Michael Ontkean) asks Lucy (Kimmy Robertson) to get hold of Pete (Jack Nance) for his chess advice, and find out the latest time they can contact the paper to post tomorrow, “Paper, Pete, I’ll do it alphabetically.” Lucy is a delight.

Wait, Pete isn’t going to die because of his chess involvement, is he? Pete and Andrew (Dan O’Herlihy) are thrilled at Pete’s breakfast plate face, Catherine (Piper Laurie) not amused in the slightest, because she’s no fun. Josie (Joan Chen) arrives home, sees Andrew alive, faints from shock. Andrew in raucous laughter at his all, I do not like this fellow.
Hank (Chris Mulkey) on crutches, called in to see Harry, Hank seems quite blasé about being arrested for Leo’s attempted murder. Attempts to blackmail Harry about involvement with Josie, so Hawk (Michael Horse) kicks out his crutch, go Hawk.
Albert (Miguel Ferrer) proved the same gun was used for both Cooper and cousin Jonathan. “Maybe she’ll confess.” “Maybe she’ll grow wings and join the circus.”

Audrey (Sherilyn Fenn) now in business mode, learning the hotel business by spending time in each role, today it’s concierge. There he is, my sweet foppish Caledon Hockley. Has a picture of Audrey when she was younger (So, a child?) dressed as Heidi with pigtails, I’m hoping it’s from when Billy Zane’s character was a child too. Rich guy with his own jet, but also stops to pick up something another patron dropped. That one tiny gesture is not enough for me to be on his side yet. Has Zane ever played someone not obscenely wealthy?

Audrey receives a note, “Save the one you love. Please attend a gathering of angels tonight at the roadhouse, 9:30”, plus another handwritten note town in half.

Big Ed (Everett McGill) placing a lot of very fragile, breakable objects on shelving, seems very prone to eventually being destroyed by the super strong and destructive Nadine (Wendy Robie). She arrives home, tells Ed that she and Mike are in love. Fickle teenage fancies, she and Mike had the most magical night on the wrestling trip. “Eddie, we have to call a spade a spade, we’re breaking up.” I can’t quite read Ed’s expression, but he doesn’t seem thrilled at this prospect, or he’s just taking a minute to let it sink in.
Josie says she escaped from Jonathan at the airport, doesn’t know what happened to him after that. Catherine listening in gleefully. Did she actually dress up as Josie and murder Jonathan? How many Asian people has she dressed as?! Cooper gives her until 9pm to hand herself in. Josie also concerned that Andrew will kill her, he wants to see her alone tonight. Understandably, Josie seems somewhat stressed about the whole situation. “Tell him the truth, tell him whatever you want.” Catherine reveals a gun location then leaves, Josie picks up the gun. Framing her for Andrew’s murder AGAIN? What is this, Double Jeopardy?

Billy Zane is John Justice “Jack” Wheeler, formerly in construction, business meeting with Ben, introduces Bobby (Dana Ashbrook) as his Executive Assistant, Bob Briggs. Wheeler is to join them on the board. “What are we left with? The Human spirit. What is the greatest gift that one human being can give another? The future” Unveils a drawing of the pine weasel, nearly extinct. Jerry: “Incredible roasted.” Ben wants to save “not just the weasel, but life as we know it. I want Twin Peaks to remain unspoiled in an era of vast environmental carnage.” Block and fight Catherine’s Ghostwood development on the grounds of pine weasel saving. Then Ben is considering a run for the senate. Sure.

Windom Earle in trucker disguise leaves an envelope in the double R for Shelley (Madchen Amick). Norma’s sister on the way, leaving a convent. The note for Shelley also contains the middle of the letter for Audrey, same invite request, so I’m guessing Donna is going to be receiving one too. Ed arrives, flips up the counter, embraces Norma (Peggy Lipton) and proposes. “We deserve to be happy, it’s our turn baby.”
Leo, still in this robe, underclothes and electric shock collar, carving sticks out in the woods. Arrow shafts for Windom. Hank in prison, visited by Norma, she asks him for divorce. “I don’t blame you.” He says he wants to change, therapy etc., she says “That’s very nice, but I have to get on with my life.” He asks her to help him get out of prison, be his alibi, lol. Believe he’ll die in prison. He’ll only divorce her if she gives him an alibi. “Go ahead, you’re his whore Norma.” “I’d rather be his whore than your wife.” Hank screams “NORMA!” and rattles the bars as she leaves.

Pete recommends a chess move that needs 5 or 6 more to take a piece. “I never heard of a guy who murdered by rules.” Albert got more evidence including an eye witness that Josie shot Jonathan. Harry suspects something is up and leaves, presumably to see Josie, but she is visited by Andrew instead, with champagne. “To beginnings, and endings, and the wisdom to know the difference.” She apologises, so she did try to kill him? Ah, he blames Eckhardt, not her, very persuasive, he’d persuaded Josie that Andrew did not love him, just business. Andrew suggests she go to Eckhardt, he’ll get her out of the country and avoid the police problems, is Catherine trying to get Josie to kill Eckhardt then get arrested for it?

James meets Donna for a picnic somewhere they’ve never been before, James out from being questioned by the police, Evelyn admitting to everything. Very hard to follow conversation in which they both do and don’t want to be together and James to come back to Twin Peaks, but end with them not together, James going away and promising to eventually come back. Ends with a kiss, leaning into an absent waterfall shot on the picnic blanket. So, hopefully, James is just going to ride off and not come back, that’d be nice.

Hammering at the door, Pete in the middle of intricate fishing gear prep? Catherine silently refusing to answer the door, the beleaguered Pete forced to as the hammering intensifies. It’s Harry, looking for Josie, she left with lots of stuff, said she was going to see an old friend at the great northern.

Andrew meets Thomas Eckhardt in the hotel elevator “I don’t believe in ghosts” “Pity. Look closer, Thomas, I’m ALIIIIIIIVE!” Tells Thomas that Josie double-crossed him, warned Andrew herself. Lying git. So they’re setting Josie and Eckhardt up to kill each other? Also tells Eckhardt that Josie in love with Harry.
Ben, Audrey and Jack at dinner, Ben wants Jack to teach him everything. Jack takes failing businesses, improves them and sells them on at a profit. “You’ll have to excuse me, the chef tried to stab Jerry.” Audrey and Jack get close.

Donna did get a note too, she, Shelley and Audrey all at the bar together. Windom is watching them from the other end of the bar, is his plan to set up the Twin Peaks equivalent of Charlie’s Angels? Does that make Windom Charlie or Bosley?

Cooper practicing casting a fishing line from his bed, gets a call from Catherine that Josie is there, at Thomas Eckhart’s suite. Overhears a struggle between Thomas and Josie, hears a gunshot, finds Josie lying in bed on top on Eckhardt, who gets up with bullet wound in his chest, then Josie rises up with a gun on Cooper. “He tried to kill me.” “Is that what you’ll say about me?” Say goodbye to David Warner then, awww. he barely had a few episodes! He died laughing. “Why did you shoot me, Josie?” “Because you came here.” Shot Cooper so he wouldn’t catch her and send her to prison? She shot Jonathan to stop him taking her back to Hong Kong. Harry steps out, hears her confession, “PUT IT DOWN!” Looks like she’s going to shoot herself, but she collapses instead, an attack of the vapours? No, she’s dead! From what?

OH FUCK Not this guy again. Bob (Frank Silva), in a spotlight, clambers from the other side of the bed. No, I forbid it. “COOP! What happened to Josie?” Laughs maniacally. Oh, the guy from the dream (Michael J. Anderson) is back too, doing his odd shuffle. Are we getting the giant as well? Nope, just Harry cradling Josie’s body.

How’d she die? Is Bob involved somehow? I’m sorry, is Josie in the doorknob now?

What 1991 CGI nightmare is this? Is she a possessive spirit now haunting a bedside cabinet?

New mysteries:
Will Pete be punished by Windom to teach Cooper a lesson about chess assistance? – I hope not, I like Pete.
Is John Justice “Jack” Wheeler too good to be true? – Look, it’s Billy Zane, he’s probably a villain of some sort.
Is James actually leaving this time? – Knowing him he’ll get embroiled in another soap opera plot somewhere else. As long as we don’t have to hear about it, that’s fine.
What caused Josie to die? Why did Cooper see Bob and the dancing man afterwards and, most importantly, why is she now haunting a drawer knob?
