2017 wasn’t my best year for film-watching. In fact, it was my worst for some time, mainly due to various other time-consuming events in my life (y’know, like getting married and all). However I did manage to watch 54 films released in the UK in 2017, and here’s my ranking of them all:

1. The Lego Batman Movie

Love that went with The Lego Batman Movie as your number 1. Phenomenal movie. Haven’t seen your 2-4, yet, but I have to if they’re potentially better than Get Out. Actually, there’s lots here I still need to see.
I know I’m late on this, but congratulations on getting married!
Thanks Dell! I don’t know if I’d say Thor and Free Fire are better quality movies than Get Out, I just enjoyed them more. I try to balance out the genuinely great films and the tons of fun ones. Dunkirk is, in my opinion, a better movie though. Bear in mind I’ve only seen Get Out once though, it has potential to rise up after repeats.
Do you rank as you go through the year or do you sit down at the end and put them in order? The process may be as interesting as the choices. We had an overlap of four in our top ten. I’m happy to see “Their Finest ” on another list. “Lego Batman ” , that one i saw coming.
Some years I rank as I go, this time I did it in one big lump at the end of the year, just compiled a list of new releases from Letterboxd, broke them into 3 categories (Amazing [1-19], Good [20-40], Meh [41+]) then ranked in those groups.

You are definitely ahead of me on 2017 movies. I have only watched a fraction of these.
I am happy to see Get Out this high. That was the great surprise of 2017. Dunkirk on the other hand was a great disappointment as a form-over-content movie.
Hidden Figures was another unasuming movie that was a lot better than expected. On my very short list of 2017 movies, Get Out and Hidden Figures would probably be 1 and 2.
Hope to read some more from you this year.
Wow! In the end I got a blog from where I can in fact take useful information concerning my study and knowledge.
